Barrowford still lead the Anthony Axford North West Cricket League Premier division, 128 points from 12 matches. On Saturday there were sixty runs for Aziz Iqbal and one fewer for Ather Waheed as they totalled 238, Callum Hill 5-64. Little Lever were 137-4 at one point, but 7-27 for Karim Khan saw them 164 all out.
Walkden remain second on 115, with a second wicket partnership of 136 between R Pervez (77) and A Javed helping them to 269 despite N Mushtaq’s 5-37. Burnley Belvedere were 89-9 but recovered to 166, A Zar 63 and M Khan 5-57.
Farnworth Social Circle looked like surpassing Read’s 218 at 183-5, but ended nine runs short.
I Britcliffe and G Kershaw each had four wickets in Farnworth’s 83 all out. Ribblesdale Wanderers were in a bit of difficulty at 49-6 but only lost one more wicket.
D Rawson’s 6-16 was largely responsible for Cherry Tree only making 46, Salesbury going on to win by ten wickets.
The top of the second reads; Baxenden 107 from 14, Burnley Belvedere 104 from 14, Feniscowles 102 from 12 and Astley Bridge 100 from 13.
From 62 without loss Belvedere could only add a further 67 runs, Krish Patel 5-43, then Majid Khan with 4-28 helped reduce Astley Bridge from 102-6 to 107 all out.
Barnoldswick were another side to experience a slump, 122-5 to 126 all out once Zayn Sheraz had departed for 58. Farooq Shah had 6-29 for Atherton who won by seven wickets.
Robson Matthews took 8-49 for Brinscall, but Blackrod’s recovery from 43-6 to 106 proved to be seventeen too many.
Late middle order batsmen and tail enders also played a bit part in Lostock’s victory against Eagley, the latter moving from 25-5 to reach 151-9, then the former winning by two wickets despite being 119-8. During the match J Patel had 5-32 and S Hall 6-39.
Matt Crompton and Matthew Austin shared eight wickets equally as Padiham were dismissed for 119, Padiham winning by six wickets.
Despite losing by almost one hundred runs chasing Chatburn’s 205-7 (Mark Nerenberg 94) Oswaldtwistle Immanuel still lead the third division with 125 points from thirteen.
Second are Barrowford, with Abdul Waqas contributing seventy to their 215 at Feniscowles. The home team were in the hunt at 139-4 but ended on 173.
A Ahmed struck 54 in Foulridge’s 234-9, O Khan 4-51. Khan then hit 78, and with A Mort adding a half century Kearsley went on to win by two wickets, V Viswambharan 4-37.
Earby overtook Tonge’s 120 for the loss of four wickets.
