NWCL Lostock v Farnworth 2024

In a tightly contested game at Lostock, Alex Rodzoch’s batting heroics led Farnworth to victory
Lostock’s innings started badly with Conor Spinks taking 2 early wickets to leave them at 10-2. Only a strong batting performance from Muhammad Suleman 88(124) with some support from opener Samuel Barlow 35(60) getting Lostock to a competitive total of 182/8.
Conor Spinks 3-43 and captain Ross Sutton 3-66 doing the damage for Farnworth with the wickets, supported by an economical spell from Alex Rodzoch.
Farnworth’s batting reply got off to the worst possible start with Harry Jackson reducing them to 24-3 with some fast bowling assisted by some good catches.
Lostock’s captain James Evans bowling a 15 over spell of spin turning the ball made it tough for Farnworth but Alex Rodzoch kept Farnworth in the game until he hit consecutive sixes that put Farnworth needing a run a ball for the final 5 overs.
With a late flurries of wickets putting Lostock ahead, Rodzoch led his partner to victory with 4 balls remaining to end on 98 not out from 144 balls
