Barrowford remain top of the Anthony Axford North West Cricket League Conference Premier with 140 points from thirteen matches. On Saturday Ansar Mahmood struck 67 runs in their 218, Adnan Khan taking 4-28 for Farnworth. Ather Waheed and Shuja Rashid also took four wickets as Farnworth were dismissed for 99.
Walkden are still in second place with 125 from thirteen having reduced Foulridge from 44-1 to 97 all out, M Khan 5-38 and M Anwar 4-34, Walkden going on to win by five wickets.
L Partington hit 111 not out in Little Lever’s 241. Cherry Tree were in the hunt at 143-8, with half centuries for O Errey and D Lord but 5-39 for S Harrison saw them bowled out forty short.
A Abbas with 4-42 helped restrict Farnworth Social Circle to 171, then Burnley Belvedere recovered from 27-5 to win by four wickets, A Zar steadying the innings with 64.
In the second division Burnley Belvedere have 114 points from fifteen following a two wicket win against Eagley. S Wilcox was Eagley’s leading scorer with 66 in their 192-8, but Belvedere recovered from 148-7 after S Hall had taken 4-35.
On the same number of points, but with two games in hand are Feniscowles. Chasing Baxenden’s 202, R Tomlinson 53 and J Callaghan 5-42, they had slipped to 171-8 but didn’t lose another wicket, A Ughradar 65.
C Clarke took 5-19 in Barnoldswick’s 99, Atherton winning by seven wickets.
Blackrod’s 114 was overtaken by Padiham for the loss of seven wickets, Owen Moss taking four of these.
Harrison Adderley had 3-9 to help dismiss Brinscall for 122, Barney Fisher then hitting 66 not out in Lostock’s seven wicket win.
Oswaldtwistle Immanuel lead the third division with 137 points from 14. Said Oryakhil took 6-24 for Kearsley in dismissing them for 120, but Nadeem Aslam’s 5-15 for Ossy helped reduce Kearsley to 76 all out.
Second are Earby on 107 from thirteen. Lucas Lockley with the outstanding all round performance of the day, 134 not out in Earby’s 225, then taking 4-38 in Tonge’s 182.
Andrew Booth’s 5-27 was largely instrumental in Chatburn dismissing Barrowford for 65. Abdul Mann’s four early wickets put Chatburn on 25-4, but they recovered to win for the loss of just one more wicket.
Anees Ahmed was Foulridge’s leading bowler with 4-41 in Feniscowles 196. Foulridge then managed to lose their last seven wickets for two runs, 64 all out, Saifullah Patel 4-22.
Ramsbottom Cup
Foulridge 1st v Ribblesdale Wanderers 2nd
Ribblesdale won the toss and elected to bat. They never recovered from a collapse from 27-1 to 29-5, being bowled out for just 71 in 24 overs. Abrar Sarwar 3-25 and Rashid Rasheed 4-4 did the damage.
In reply, Foulridge took only 13.2 overs to reach the target, Muhammad Khubaib top scored with 24 not out.
Little Lever v Tonge
Little Lever won the toss and elected to field.
Tonge openers Daniel Holt 31 and Umair Ali put on 41 for the first wicket. Tonge lost wickets on a regular basis, but had a total to bowl at thanks to runs from Syed Shah 20 and Rob Tully who top scored with 36. Louis Partington took 4-23 with a couple of wickets each for Simon Harrison and Paul Hewart.
In reply, Little Lever openers Leon Tennant 52, including 10 fours and a six and Preston Hayhurst put on 83. Michael Daley 23 not out joined Hayhurst and they saw Little Lever home by 7 wickets with 5 overs to spare. Hayhurst ended on 65 not out including 12 fours.
Lawrenson Cup
Astley Bridge 2nd v Feniscowles 2nd
Feniscowles batting first posted a total of 122-9, Reza Hussain 33 top scored with 22 from Andy Allen. Ramesh Patel took 3-15.
A third wicket partnership of 87 proved decisive between Zain Ahmed 36 not out and James Cooper who made 51 including 4 fours and 3 sixes as Astley Bridge reached their target with nearly 20 overs to spare.
Blackrod 2nd v Barrowford 1st
Opener Mark Glover made 51 for Blackrod and another 51 this time not out from Jack Southworth enabled them to post a score of 180 all out. Ulfat Ali took 3-19.
Barrowford Captain and Opener Jonny Ormerod played sheet anchor making 50, Ansar Mahmood made 41 but Barrowford continued to lose wickets or a regular basis and were eventually all out for 164 with three overs remaining to give Blackrod a 16 run victory.
Owen Moss took 3-23 and Alfie Smethurst 3-35.
