In the Anthony Axford T20, Barnoldswick batted first in a local derby and posted 102-7. Joseph
Robinson dismissed the prolific Upal Indrasiri and Justin Gilliland for
single figures and the top scorer was Majid Inayat for 24. Luke Hipgrave
took 3-29.
In reply opener Ruben Hermann made 49 and Adam Hodge was 20 not out as
Earby won comfortably by 5 wickets with a couple of overs to spare.
Matt Cavanagh took 4-27
Baxenden batted first and made 101, Oliver Wetton took 3 of the wickets
to fall.
Salesbury won comfortably by seven wickets, Oliver Rawson top scoring
with 37.
Whalley won the toss and elected to field on a good looking pitch and in
front of a sizeable crowd.
Andrew Needham got Ribblesdale off to a quick start with 29 off 21
deliveries. Mack Spencer 68 not out and A Jotin 57 added 109 for the 2nd
wicket in a competitive total of 163-2.
Whalley struggled to keep up with the required rate faced by some
accurate bowling backed up by some excellent ground fielding. Despite a
partnership of 54 between Frankie Jackson 27 and Levi Wolfenden, the
rate continued to rise. Wolfenden was out in the last over for 76 off 61
deliveries as Whalley finished 30 runs short. Ian Britcliffe took 3-25.
After the match, Ian Britcliffe said, ” We have had a very good start to
the season, it has been good to play on different grounds and against
different opposition. We have played well as a team with the batters
scoring runs and with a balanced attack we have bowled well. We are
looking to maintain our good form in the League and challenge for the
top places”
Cherry Tree batted first and thanks to Neil Timmis 44 and Mark Hadfield
45 set a target 163-6. Andrew Bennett took 3-33.
In reply opener sub -professional Y De Silva made 42 and Ben Woodall 36.
Joseph Halstead then ensured a comfortable win for Read making 44 off
just 16 deliveries including 4 fours and 4 sixes as read got over the
line with 7 wickets in hand and 5 overs to spare. Mark Hadfield had a
good all round performance taking 3-23.
Settle batting first made 117-9. Ashen Silva top scored with 39. Zander
Van Tonder took 3-22.
Padiham got over the line with relative ease with six wickets in hand
and a couple of overs to spare.
Oswaldtwistle’s opening pair of Sagar Trivedi 58 and Brad Boddie 47 put on
98 for the first wicket and were the foundation for a very competitive
total of 172-6. Joe Callaghan was the pick of the bowlers taking 4-34.
In reply Feniscowles never really looked like overhauling the target and
ended on 115. Sohail Mohammed top scored with 32 and Kurt Smithson took 3-22
in a 62 run win for Oswaldtwistle.
Asif Hussain hit a half century in Walkden’s 134-8, Saminda Senapathi taking 4-13 and Steven Ashworth 3-15 for Blackrod. Blackrod were handily placed at 78-3 but were dismissed for 105.
Will Shuttleworth top scored with 46 in Eagley’s 135-6, before Harry O’Rourke took 3-15 as Lostock ended their innings 78 all out.
Akshat Kamath with 79 and Lesiba Ngoepe, 87 from 37 deliveries, put on 127 for Astley Bridge’s first wicket as they reached 194-1. Farnworth Social Circle were 46-2 at one point, but Ngoepe rounded off a good all round performance with 4-6 to give Bridge a 108 run victory.
There were three wickets each for Nipun Gaikwad, Naeem Patel and Curtis Anderton, Anderton only conceding five runs, in Farnworth’s 100 all out. At 79-7 the game was in the balance, but Jake Lehman and Patel saw Little Lever safely home.
Jonathan Bird (43) and Byron Giravdeaux (36) helped Kearsley to 91-2, but 4-9 for Abdullah Ishaq pinned them back to 130-9. Substantial innings from Sam Hardman, Hashan Dumindu and Rupert Holmes took Tonge to a five wicket win, despite 3-12for Moshin Patel.
117 for Zain Abbas and 64 for Rowan Shelton took Atherton to 176-1, and they eventually finished 190-4, Jon Hinrichsen with 3-27. Mohammad Nazim recorded figures of 4-19 in Brinscall’s 83 all out.
