NWCL clubs join national scheme
NWCL clubs have unanimously voted to join a national scheme to improve playing surfaces. Supported by the ECB, the scheme will be delivered through the UK’s leading Ground Management Association (GMA) with assistance from the LCF.Ground Assessors from the GMA and LCF will visit each club during the 2024 season and carry out soil and ground appraisals. This will progress into a report that will allow clubs to prioritise their future work and expenditure into areas that will reap the maximum improvement. Having this objective report from a respected source like the GMA, will assist clubs undertaking any grant application.The ECB and the GMA are working on the development of a software app called “Pitch Power” for clubs to use themselves. This will allow clubs in the future to conduct their own inspections of playing surfaces, monitor improvements and plan further action.
