Little Lever will travel to Prestwich on 30th June in the quarter final of the Lancs KO having defeated Littleborough of the Lancashire League in the second round.Littleborough batted first, and nineteen runs from top scorer Zac Perrin took then to 30-1, but then Josh Hill with 5-14 and Adil Nisar with 3-17 struck and the home side were bowled out for 84 in a match reduced to 37 overs a side. With rain threatening again, pro Sam Fanning and Joe Capstick made a brisk half century opening partnership before Capstick was dismissed. Fanning ended the nine wicket victory one short of his half century.Defending only 93, Padiham gave competition favourites Ormskirk a scare reducing them to four runs for three wickets, however they lost only one more wicket in overhauling their target. This was still one of the closest games of the day, with the other four teams batting second winning by eight or nine wickets. The quarter finals will comprise three teams from the Northern League, two from the Lancashire League and one each from the Greater Manchester League, Liverpool Competition and North West Cricket League.(Photo of Little Lever at Littleborough emailed).Ray.
